When automatically adding logs of a specific property to a Well
The Preference tab of the Property Catalog displays the aliases used for each template and allows you to specify your own. When a track displaying a specific property type is added to the Well
Preferences tab columns
Template The property template associated with the aliases.
System preference The list of aliases that the system uses when selecting a log for display. For some templates, multiple aliases are specified, separated by a semicolon (;), in priority order. The first alias listed has the highest priority.
Wild-cards (*) can be used as part of the alias. Wild-cards can represent any number of characters, including no characters.
User preference Custom aliases can be specified in this column. When custom aliases are used, all aliases in the System preference column are ignored, and only the custom aliases are used in the log selection process.
When defining your own aliases, you can use a wild-card (*) if needed. Wild-cards can represent any number of characters, including no characters.
Ignore suffix Selecting this option will cause any characters appearing after the first underscore in the log name to be ignored as part of the log selection process.
Importing and exporting aliases
Import The import button allows importing an XML file format with aliases, the aliases in this file are appended to the existing aliases.
Overwrite The overwrite button allows importing an XML file format with user aliases, the aliases in this file replace the existing aliases.
Export The current user aliases are written to an XML file format. This can be imported on another computer or shared with colleagues.
Clear All user aliases are removed.
If you click Save as default catalog, your aliases get saved as the application defaults, just as for the templates and definitions.
